もう随分と昔の話。動物に名前もなく、出会った人もいない時代。森で最初に出会った人は村に帰って、どのようにして、出会った動物を村人に伝えたのでしょうか。身振り手振りで伝えたかもしれないし、絵を描いて伝えたかもしれない。彫刻をつくって伝えた人もいるだろう。動物に出会った時の、恐怖と感動と驚き、初めて人に伝えるスリリングな感覚。そんな気持ちがどこかにあるのかもしれない…。そこが現代の東京。さらには、丸の内の路上で動物に出会ったらどうでしょうか…。
三沢は、この十数年動物をテーマにした「アニマルズ」を発表し、支持を得ています。ブロンズをほぼ等身大に彫り込み彩色をした動物たちが、圧倒的な存在感を放ち、見るものの記憶やイメージを喚起します。

Misawa has announced “Animals” on the theme of animals for the past decade and is endorsed. Animals carving and painting bronze almost life-size and releases an overwhelming presence and evokes memory and images of what you see.
