つくしんぼう Horsetail TSUKUSHINBOU

桑田卓郎　2018年制作（磁土・釉薬・顔料・金）

現代陶芸から現代アートの世界で活躍がめざましい桑田。目に飛び込んでくるビビッドな青や黄色の素地に重ねた金彩や白金彩は一見ポップな印象ですが、陶芸の伝統的な技法である石はぜ、梅花皮や本作品でも使われている点滴などが使われており、そこから生み出される大胆な造形の茶碗や彫刻作品は桑田作品の代名詞となっています。
近年では1メートルを超える大きさの茶碗や、またそれ以上に大きな彫刻作品も精力的に制作しています。素材に触れることや、やきもののプロセスの中での感動を、自身を通し表現することで、今の自分、社会との繋がり方や関係性を確認しています。

Kuwata has a remarkable success in the world of modern art from contemporary ceramics. The gold color and the platinum coloration overlaid on the vivid blue or yellow base that jumps into the eyes are seemingly pop impression, but the stone which is the traditional technique of ceramics, the intravenous drip that is also used in plum flower skin and this work The bold bowls and sculptural works produced from that are used as pronouns of the Kuwata work.
In recent years I have also made vigorously a large bowl with a size exceeding 1 meter and also larger sculptures. By expressing ourselves through touching materials and emotions in the process of crawling through ourselves, we are confirmed our current relationships and relationships with society.
