ローマの公園 Park in Rome

本作品は、実際にローマのボルゲーゼ公園で見た光景をもとに制作されました。老女と若い娘がベンチに腰かけ語り合う、我々が日常生活でよく見かける光景ですが、淀井の頭の中にはその場面が特に印象深く残っていたといいます。そして帰国後さっそく制作を開始。原型は鉄で骨組みをつくり、直接石膏をつけて作られており、枯れ木のようなゴツゴツした肌が、風景の中に自然に溶け込みます。ベンチのやや左よりに腰かけたふたりの何気ない動作や視線から、ふたりの間にあるほのぼのとした感情と人生が伝わってきます。

This work was produced based on the view actually seen at Villa Borghese in Rome. An old woman and a young daughter sit and sit on a bench, it is a sight that we often see in everyday life, but in the head of Yodoi said the scene was particularly impressive. And after returning home, I started making work. The prototype is made of iron with sculpture made directly with plaster, and rugged skin like dead tree naturally blends into the landscape. From the casual movements and gazes sitting on the bench’s slightly left side, feelings and lives that are heartwarming between us are transmitted.
